Making a Christmas Stocking for Baby
When Luther’s daddy and I got together I made him a stocking for our first Christmas. I was thrilled to find some of the same red fabric left over in a drawer and I’ve made Luther a matching Christmas stocking.
I cut out two pieces in the shape of the stocking, a front and a back section. Then cut the letters out of festive green felt and then some squares in white felt for them to sit on. I hand sewed the letters with green silk thread and then sewed the white squares onto the red fabric.
I’ve added a green lining and it looks lovely! I am so pleased that I managed to finish sewing it in time for Luther’s first Christmas.
Each year I sew something different onto the back of daddy’s stocking – some holly, a snowflake, a gingerbread man – and now i’ll be doing it for both my lovely boys!
